Boy Scout Resident Camp

Pre-camp leaders meetings:

  • February 29th in Quincy
  • March 1st in Keokuk
  • March 7th in Burlington

 

Camp is still looking for a few good staff members:

  • Aquatics Director - Must be at least 21 years of age and be able to successfully complete a week long training at Aquatics Section of National Camping School, Be able to pass the BSA Swimmer test followed immediately by an additional 450 yards swim, followed immediately by treading water for 2 minutes.
  • COPE/ Climbing Director:  Must be at least 21 years of age, be in good physical condition, and complete a week long training at National Camping School.
  • High Adventure Director: Must be at least 21 years of age, be in good physical condition, and complete a week long training at National Camping School. 
  • CIT's - Councilors in Training - 14-15 years old - volunteer staff position - get paid all the fun you can have.

The following camp sessions are at capacity for dining hall and program areas and are closed to new registrations.  Troops may choose from one of the other camp sessions:

  • Saukenauk week 1 - June 17-23
  • Camp Eastman week 1 - July 8-14

The Ultimate Adventure

Boy Scout Summer Camp is a week full of outdoor adventure that includes swimming, hiking, canoeing, and camping. The forest, lakes, and rivers are your playground as you earn merit badges and create memories for a lifetime and you have 2 camps to choose from!

Camp Eastman
Camp Eastman is located on the banks of the mighty Mississippi River approximately 7.5 miles South of Nauvoo, IL. Camp Eastman is equipped with a dining hall, swimming pool, shooting sports ranges, and COPE Course. Water skiing, sailing, and motorboating are all on the Mississippi River.

 

Saukenauk Scout Reservation
Saukenauk is a 602 acre wooded Scout camp that features a 40 acre lake complete with boating area and swimming beach. SSR also features a 300 ft. zip line and 35 ft. climbing tower to complete the adventure!

 

Cost

2012 SUMMER CAMP FEES AND SAVINGS PLAN
2012 Camp Fees for Council Units:

  • $225.00 per youth
  • $125.00 per adult

2012 Camp Fees for out of Council Units: 

  • $240.00 per youth 
  • $125.00 per adult

* If your Troop chooses to use the patrol or campsite cooking – subtract $35.00 per person.

Safety
Both camps are equipped with qualified health officers in communication with a Camp Physician for any emergencies or safety concerns and also feature Health Lodges for minor injuries and illnesses.

Family Night
Parents and family members of Scouts and leaders may wish to visit camp during your troop’s stay. Family night is packed full of activities from eating with your troop, touring camp and visiting the trading post. Enjoy the campfires and ceremonies by our two Camping Honor Societies-Order of the Arrow and Tribe of the Silver Tomahawk.
