Scouting along the Mississippi River The area served by the Mississippi Valley Council includes a twelve county area of West Central Illinois, Southeast Iowa and Northeast Missouri. Two Council Service Centers are provided for the convenience of the leaders and staffed with 12 full time council employees. Council offices are located in Quincy, Illinois and Burlington, Iowa. The council serves almost 6,000 youth and 2,000 leaders and a host of partner organizations. There are three districts within our council area. The council owns two camps that are available to provide a great camping experience for our youth. The council provides many training opportunities for new leaders. You may find these listed under the Training page. Each district has a monthly meeting called a Roundtable that provides program ideas and helpful suggestions from experienced Scouters. The links below will be helpful for new boys, new parents and new leaders.
