CAMP LONG RANGE PLANNING

The following plan contains some of the hopes and dreams for Camp Eastman.

Please keep in mind that these ideas and concepts are under development, and have not all been approved by the Council Camping Committee or the Council Executive Board.  If approved, we will need to address the issue of funding, consider the needs of the council, and comply with rules and regulations of the Boy Scouts of America.

If you would like to help with any camp project, please call the local scout office for a referral to the local Camp Committee Chair.

Pool evaluation, possible replacement Capital Campaign

Staff quarters update and/or replace
More platforms? Adjust and repair cabins to fit slabs? Redo Cooks cabins

Weekend Camp Guide quarters (old administrations building)
New location of door on the east side to make it more private
Add a kitchenette insulate floors and shower for winter use

Family Camp Ground Area
Permanent building for individual use, updated restrooms with running water and showers

Improve our water front area for better usage in program
updated equipment, dockage, Larry's creek

Maintenance area needs a new roof and other upgrades
Quartermasters and main Maintenance building

Improve latrines in all campsites and program areas
Need 2-3 stalls; add one to Pump House Flats area

Conservation of all our trails
maintain and upkeep

Rifle Range
Reroof range; add electricity and lighting for evening shoots
relocate shotgun and black powder area

Nature Area (more to the projects in area)
Outside projects area, pens with pheasants to raise, fish to raise in end of the pond/pens so the kids can feed and watch them grow, more prairie grass areas

Silver Tomahawk Lodge
Converting the old sales room into a handicap accessible public restroom (Family Night)

V.F.W building (replace??)

Add at least two more

Update and add water for cleaning
