Shoquoquon District

Dinner

The 2010 District Annual Recognition Dinner will be held on Saturday, January 23rd.  Please reserve the date in your calendar.  This year’s dinner will again be held at the West Burlington Christian Church, 545 Melville.  This is the same location as last year, and the same location as Roundtables.  The menu has not been finalized, but the good news is that a good cooking crew will be in the kitchen.  The program is currently being developed, but rumor has it that there will be some new stuff this year and some interesting surprises.  You won’t want to miss this year’s District Dinner, as the theme is Scouting – a Reunion with History.

 Roundtables

Shoquoquon District Roundtables will continue to be held on the second Thursday of each month beginning at 7:00 p.m.  Meetings are held at the West Burlington Christian Church, 545 Melville, behind Westland Mall.  All adult leaders are invited to these monthly program information updates.  The public is invited.

Advancement

Several units have not yet submitted advancement reports reflecting Summer Camp merit badges.  Remember that immediate recognition is an important part of the Scout program.  Have regular quarterly Courts of Honor to recognize your Scouts’ achievements.

District Committee

The Shoquoquon District Committee meets monthly beginning at 6:30 p.m. on the first Tuesday in Suite 300 at 205 Washington Street in downtown Burlington.  This is the monthly business meeting for Shoquoquon District.  The public is welcome.

Commissioner Staff Meeting

The Commissioner Staff of Shoquoquon District meets at 6:30 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month just prior to Roundtable at West Burlington Christian Church, 545 Melville.  Commissioner attendance is expected.

Popcorn Sale

The Council Annual Popcorn Sale begins November 1st.  This is a great opportunity for your Pack, Troop, or Crew to plan and fund your Ideal Year of Scouting!  Make sure your unit has an exciting Popcorn Kick-off.  This is your opportunity to get your Scouts and parents motivated to sell because they know why and for what they are selling . . . an incredibly fun Scouting year!  The District stands ready to support your sale in any way we can.  Please call us if you have any concerns or questions and we will help any way we can.  Go for it!
