2018 Service Clubs Open House at Saukenauk Scout Reservation
The Mississippi Valley Council Endowment Committee HOSTS
An Open House at Saukenauk Scout Reservation
September 25, 2018 (Tues.)
5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Saukenauk Scout Reservation was purchased by the Quincy Kiwanis, Exchange, and Rotary clubs and donated to the Saukee Area Council so Scouts had a place to camp on weekends and attend a local Summer Camp. Over the years more land has been added to the property and our Scouts now explore and adventure through 602 acres of woodland. Each year, more than 3,000 youth and their families camp at Saukenauk Scout Reservation.
The Mississippi Valley Council has committed to ensuring that youth have life-changing adventures at our camp and we are excited that the community supports our nationally accredited programs. We invite you to come visit camp and see some of the new construction such as the five Philmont Cabins, Bouldering Wall, Shotgun Range, Long Range Rifle Range, and Longhouse.
All members of local Service Clubs are welcome to come out and see the recent improvements to our camps and to see the legacy of the community’s support over the last century. Please let us know how many from your club plan to attend so we may have soda, water, and snacks available.
Please RSVP to J. David Gilbert at (217) 224-0204 or jdavid.gilbert@scouting.org for planning purposes!
