Shoquoquon District Fall Camporee
Take a trip to the DeSoto Bend National Wildlife Refuge, the Strategic Air Command Museum, and the Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo!
Who May Attend: All registered Boy Scout Youth; Adult waiting list pending availability after September 15th
Fee: $125 ($60 non-refundable but transferable deposit to guarantee youth reservation by September 15th). Includes bus transportation, entrance fees, overnight, merit badge classes and meals en route. Limited to first 45 Scouts to register, all are expected to participate in scheduled activities and wear class A field uniform during merit badge activities.
Schedule: Leave Burlington High School Parking Lot at 7:30 a.m. (eat breakfast before you arrive)
Arrive DeSoto Bend National Wildlife Refuge approximately 12:30 p.m (lunch upon arrival)
Bird Study Merit Badge 1:00-4:00 p.m.
Arrive Strategic Air Command Museum 5:30 p.m. (dinner en route)
Aviation Merit Badge and Overnight at SAC Museum (breakfast)
Arrive Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo 9:30 a.m.
Oceanography or Mammal Study or Environmental Science Merit Badge 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
Explore Zoo 12:00-3:00 p.m. (lunch at zoo at own expense)
Depart for Home 3:15 p.m. (dinner stop en route)
Arrive Burlington approximately 7:45 p.m.
What to Bring: Class A and B uniforms, Scouting America Health Form, sleeping clothes, change of clothes, cot or small air mattress, sleeping bag and pillow, toiletries, binoculars if you have them, money for zoo lunch and spending
