Citizenship Themed Merit Badge Weekend

The Mississippi Valley Council will be offering Citizenship in the Community, Citizenship in the Nation and Citizenship in Society.  Scouts can choose up to three to participate in for the price of $15.  Cracker Barrels provided with each one but no meals.  Please plan accordingly.

Citizenship in Society – A morning and afternoon session will be offered.  This merit badge will not be completed on this day and homework will be assigned.  Communication with the Merit Badge Counselor (MBC) will be required after the class via email. Make sure to copy a second adult with this communication to be covered in two-deep leadership. The morning and afternoon sessions will overlap during the noon hour. Scouts may grab cracker-barrel and bring their lunch for a panel session with outside guests.

  •  In Class- Requirements 1 Discussion, 2, 3, 4, 5, 10
  • Prerequisite or homework – Requirements  1, 6, 7, 8
  • Post Event or homework – Requirements 9, 11.
    • We recommend you do these AFTER our joint session but they may be completed prior to.

Citizenship in the World – one evening session will be offered.  More details to come as we work with the Merit Badge Counselor on this one.  Stay tuned!

Cost: $15 per Scout regardless how many classes you take.  A cracker barrel will be provided during each class.  Meals will not be provided.  Plan to bring a lunch or dinner if you will be there for multiple classes and over a meal time.
