Get ready for an epic adventure filled with cozy campfire laughs, the smell of toasted marshmallows (bonus points for burnt ones!), testing your scouting skills, and a chance to create memories that’ll last longer than your winter gear!
So, Come and CHILLÂ with us during MVC’s 2025 Polar Bear Camp Out! Grab your warmest socks, layer up like a pro, and come ready for a weekend packed with fun, unforgettable experiences, and maybe a few (okay, a lot of) snowball fights!
This year, we’re throwing it back and keeping it “old school” with an activity-based approach. Get ready for a weekend packed with fun, where scouts will collaborate and compete, honing their skills and forging unforgettable memories together!Quick heads-up for the units: If you want to get a jump on the action, feel free to start building your awesome shelters at Saukenauk anytime before the 17th! Remember, we’ll be giving out an award for “Best Shelter,” so let your creativity and competitive spirits shine!And here’s a tasty tidbit—units will be responsible for bringing and cooking their own meals! This is the perfect chance to bond with other troops, swap cooking tips, and share some delicious food around the campfire!Here’s what your weekend schedule will look like:ÂFriday:– 5 PM: Check-in begins—get settled in!– 6:30 PM: Scoutmaster meeting for evening arrivals—let’s get everyone on the same page!Saturday:– 8:00 AM: Morning Scoutmaster meeting—rise and shine!– 9:00 AM: Activities kick off—let the games begin!– 11:30 AM: Break for lunch—fuel up for the fun ahead!– 1 PM – 4 PM: Exciting activities continue!– 7:00 PM: Evening fire & awards—Troops! Come prepared to showcase your amazing skits around the fire! It’s time to shine and celebrate our accomplishments togetherSunday:– Check-out, followed by camp inspections and patches.What Activities Can You Look Forward To?Â
– Fire Building Challenge: Scouts will forage for materials and show off their fire-starting skills by igniting a fire that burns through a 1.5-foot-high rope!
-Snow Shoe Race
– Egg Cooking Contest: Using just a styrofoam cup—how creative can you get?
– Knot Relay Race: Test your knot-tying skills—accuracy and speed will be the name of the game!
– Tug of War: Unleash your strength and compete against other troops for bragging rights!
