2018 Council Camporee – Hero

Who – Boy Scout Troops, Venture Crews, Explorer Posts

When – September 28 – Registration at 5-8 pm; Closes September 30 at 10:00 am

Fees – $20 for each participant and leader before September 17th. $25 after September 17th.

What to Bring – Troop tent camping, propane stoves, “jambo style” Camping. Optional: T-Shirt to screen print or purchase a shirt at the event.

Activities – Activities are geared to show respect to our everyday Heroes – Firefighters, Law Enforcement, Emergency Providers and our Military.  Check out the 30 static displays of vehicles and equipment, 15 hands on activity stations, and special demonstrations/activities planned for every hour.

As our local emergency service organizations are providing Scouting with this exciting program, please understand that we cannot guarantee any individual piece of equipment or personnel may be needed for duty.  Therefore these resources may not be available the day of the event or may need to leave in case of emergency.

Patch Trading – each Hero at the camporee will have a small number of special camporee patches.  The Hero will give these patches to Scouts that they meet who are demonstrating the character of a true hero and those Scouts showing genuine interest and respect for their career.  They will not provide patches to anyone who asks for a patch.

Food – Meals will be the responsibility of the Troop.  If we are able to reach our preregistration goal, Saturday Lunch will be provided.  This will be announced as soon as we reach our goal.

Camping – Camping will be “jambo style.”  Troops will be provided a specific area to camp, size based on your registration numbers a couple weeks before the event.  There will be Troops camping adjacent to your campsite, so you will be required to stay in your area.   No ground fires.  We will be camping near residential area; Troop leaders will be responsible to keep their Scouts quiet after taps.
