2019 Shoquoquon Fall Camporee
Join Shoquoquon District in a Backpacking High Adventure Weekend at Geode State Park!
This Camporee will focus on:
- Preparing Scouts for an upcoming High Adventure trip like Philmont
- Practicing Leave No Trace
- Miles of hiking for hiking merit badge
- Learning the essentials of creating safe drinking water
- Exploring Geode State Park!
- Practicing Wilderness First Aid
- And so much more!
WHO: All Scouts BSA and Venturing Members
T-SHIRTS: Camporee T-shirts and patches will be provided to participants who register on time. No on-site printing will be available.
YOUTH PROTECTION: Units must provide adequate registered adults needed to have two-deep adult leadership.
COST: $20.00 per Youth and $10.00 per Adult. Please register by October 11th to guarantee a T-shirt and patch.
THINGS TO BRING: BSA Medical Form Parts A & B, camping and backpacking equipment/clothing/footwear and a sense of adventure. Participants should be in adequate physical condition to complete an 8-mile hike. Bring your Troop/Crew essentials and leave the trailer at home. Plan for a weekend of high adventure near home.
Activities include instruction and participation in backpacking, cooking, Leave No Trace, bear and wildlife safety (no bears are expected) and wilderness first aid. Saturday dehydrated dinner provided. All other meals are the responsibility of the unit.
This is a great opportunity for units to promote and practice for a high adventure trek or just to have fun.
