Coronavirus (COVID-19) Mississippi Valley Council Update for 3/27

We've been receiving a lot of communication from you with questions about how the Council is approaching a few different topics from deadlines, to Roundtable, to camps. I want you to know that we are watching the COVID-19 situation closely. While life may be slowing down for many of us the rate at which the situation is updating seems to only be increasing. We are planning for various scenarios as to what may occur over the next 30- 60- and 90-days. We wanted to give you a snapshot of where things stand now, and we will continue to update you as things change.

Service Centers and Camps will remain closed and No Scouting Activities are to be held face-to-face until at least April 12th. We will reevaluate and update you on April 8th.

Cancelled events will be given a full refund. We will do our best to reschedule all affected activities. This includes Summer Camp. Special Event Fundraisers will be rescheduled. If you would like a refund please contact J. David Gilbert otherwise we will hold those funds until a rescheduled date has been determined.

For the most up to date info, visit our Council's Facebook page. We will post recaps in The Current once or twice a week.

We will continue to monitor this situation and are taking our lead from local, state, and federal officials, local health professionals, our Risk Management committee, and keeping in tune with our School Districts. Please stay safe, healthy, and do your part to help reduce the spread of this virus.

We are postponing *all* deadlines for the Council until further notice. This includes but is not limited to:

-Summer Camp Registration
-Camporee Registration
-Campership Due Date
-Camp Card Funds Due

Cancelled events will be given a full refund. We will do our best to reschedule all affected activities.

The Council will be hosting ONE Roundtable for the month of April. All leaders from both Shoquoquon and Eagle Valley districts are welcome to attend.

April 2, 2020 at 7:00 pm via Zoom.

Roundtables are to provide knowledge, program ideas, skills, and fun resources that can help enhance your Den, Pack, Troop, and Patrol programs. They are geared towards leaders of all programs.

Register and get a reminder e-mail with a link to the Zoom.

May will also be a Zoom Roundtable. More info and a registration link will be featured in a future edition of The Current.
